RICHLAND CO.— Richland county lawmen continue to add to the number of drug dealers they have taken off the streets.
The number of drug trafficking arrests, not suspects merely in possession of one kind of one drug or another, but drug “dealers,” is now nearing the double-digit range.
The latest pair to have been nabbed include Tyler R. Adams, 23, of 200 East Glenwood Dr., Olney.
Adams’ charges allege that on or about January 4, at his East Glennwood home, he possessed 30-500 grams of cannabis with intent to deliver said weed.
When he was taken into custody, police say they found a blue glass pipe on his person and he was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Adams’ criminal history includes an Illinois Department of Corrections sentence of three years handed him January 18, 2011 along with a $375 fine for a conviction of Aggravated Battery causing Great Bodily Harm.
It appears Adams’ green thumb hadn’t yet translated to greenbacks.
He was released from police custody January 6 after a $2,000 cash bond was posted on his behalf by Madison R. Sokolinski, 20, who happens to live with Mr. Adams.
Sokolinski’s criminal history includes a November 14, 2012 conviction for Battery, for which she was sentenced to court supervision for 12 months and ordered to pay $253 in fines and fees.
Sumner woman dealing at Walmart?
The second bust came about several days later.
Judy M. Royse, 59, of 1292 Bugaboo Lane, Sumner, was taken into custody on or about January 11, at the Walmart in Olney, located at 1001 North West St., and charged with Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
At the time of her arrest Royse was out on an undetermined amount of bond from a November 5, 2014, Richland County case in which she was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
Royse is a convicted felon from Lawrence County, having been convicted in 2005 for Obstruction of Justice for which she was sentenced to 18 months probation.
Royse has also been charged with more than half a dozen drug offenses over the years in Lawrence but all were dismissed, most by state’s attorney Chris Quick.
Royse was released from police custody in her most recent case after a $5,000 cash bond was posted on her behalf by her neighbor Rosie Morgan, of 1524 Bugaboo Lane, Sumner.
