RICHLAND CO.— One of a pair of suspected Olney dopers has been given a shot at the rehab apple.
John N. Finn, 35, of 620 West Elm St., Olney, was charged August 19 with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine after authorities say the previous day, August 18, they found him at home with less than five grams of the drug on his person.
On September 7 judge Kimbara Harrell ordered Finn released on a $10,000 recognizance bond along with an order for him to seek a drug and alcohol assessment.
Other than a handful of traffic citations and one each Order of Protection and small claims case, Finn has no adult criminal record in Richland County.
But Finn wasn’t the only one living at that West Elm Street address who was taken in.
It would seem that 54-year-old William E. Dunnigan, also of 620 West Elm St., Olney, was arrested on a single charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine for having less than five grams of meth on his person while chilling at home Aug. 18.
The difference between Finn’s and Dunnigan’s cases is that at the time of his arrest, Dunnigan was out on a $1,500 cash bond posted on his behalf by Judy Neikirk, of Mt. Carmel.
In that case Dunnigan was arrested April 2 and charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine less than five grams, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance identified as Alprazolam, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia identified as a metal pipe for smoking cannabis and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis 10 to 30 grams.
It is unclear if the arrests were kicked off because of a visit by lawmen to check on Dunnigan’s status while out on bond.
What is clear is that with his re-arrest, Jude will more than likely be out that $1,500 in coin she posted on dude’s behalf.
Cash bond in his most recent case was set at $3,000.
