RICHLAND CO., Ill. - The Richland County Coroner's office has confirmed the cause of death in a situation that emerged very early Tuesday morning.
The coroner's office confirmed this morning that the body of Kerry Gene Brown, 40, of Noble, was found on Blueberry Road in rural Richland County, dead of a gunshot wound, this at about 1:30 in the morning September 6.
The coroner's office did not elaborate on where the gunshot wound was; they advised that the manner of death remains under investigation, but it appears the wound was self-inflicted, which would rule out any foul play on the part of another.
The location, the coroner's office said, was not Brown's residence, but was a property belonging to his family.
